G'day Shredders,
Wow! What a response to yesterday's post regarding Free Days Vs. Cheat Meals. I honestly thought I was the only one who had these kind of "weird" thoughts.
I guess you just never know how many other people are feeling the same as you about a certain topic unless you communicate the truth as you see it!
Today I will continue on this very important topic (this was a major factor in my 6 years of poor results) by discussing the concept of "progressive discipline".
RTP Group Shred Video: Day 6
Progressive Discipline: Part 1
Inside this video you will discover...
- Daily Challenges: The inspiration I drew from the Body of Work documentary by Bill Phillips of BFL (I love this movie!)
- Inside Story: How I came to write an exclusive article about Progressive Discipline for Burn The Fat Inner Circle.
- Progressive Discipline: Mission 1 Flashback, "Would you eat this chocolate cake for $1,000,000?"

P.S. Below are my Day 357 pics for October 31, 2007: Mission 3 Phase 2 - Day 62 of 70 (RTP Group Shred - Day 6 0f 14). My camera had a "panic attack" tonight so the front pic is blurry and no side pic.

Hey Adam,
A cliffhanger today!! Looking forward to part 2 tomorrow.
Your bottom abs look like they are almost ready to make a guest appearance mate, 9 days to go till your blogs anniversary. Keep it up we are all behind you shredding as hard as we possibly can.
Take care,
Andrew
Haha, I had to cut the movie because I started ramble on about another topic! Yeah, those elusive bottom two abs are starting to reveal themselves...whether they will make a full appearance before the Day 365 deadline is up to how brutal my cardio training will be!
Cheers,
Adam Waters
Hey Adam,
I am sure you will make as "brutal" as you need to get the results. I was thinking of making a double HIT session and seeing whether I could achieve it, no idea if I could but I a game to give it go, fancy a mini shred challenge??
Use your starting speeds below:
1 m @ 6kph
1 m @ 12kph
1 m @ 14kph
1 m @ 16kph
So I think you do 4 normally and I do 5 by mistake I know but I kept to it. This takes 20 minutes, so how about we double it and do it 10 times? Now that should be brutal enough to scare the last of the fat off your abs!!
Take care mate,
Andrew
Mate, you are looking awesome, as Andrew says the bottom two are just about there.
You're looking great and a def. inspiration - how do you get 2 pics side by side? can't seem to get it work for me.
Diane
Listening to your video was like reading a novel, and just when the best part was about to.....BAM! Next day! Can´t wait. Do tell us how we can implement this all into our lives now. Am following the MS WOE...do I follow it to the letter? Do I just keep following the cycles one after another until....
Lynda
Hey Michael,
I hope you read this. I have been tyring for days to leave comments and for you and it keeps saying my session has timed out reenter the code even when I re-enter.
Any problems you know of?
You are making such progress. Keep up the great work.
Take care,
Andrew
Andrew- I was just coming here to leave a message for Michael too after I saw his pics today. (I can't post there either)
MICHAEL - I see a HUGE difference in your latest picture. You are doing fantastic! Keep doing what you're doing because it's working.
Adam - thanks for today's video message. Looking forward to tomorrow's part 2. And you thought you were going to sleep tonight. HA!
Debbie
Hey Adam! Good progress can really see the lower two abs starting to show. Plus the skin is really sticking to your ribs now.
Keep going!
Sam
Just had another look at your pics. Apart from the bottom two, you are really looking fuller and harder bud. WOW
Debbie and Andrew,
What browser are you using? Perhaps that's the problem? Others are managing to leave comments. Let me know.
Thanks for the comments...I really appreciate it.
Adam, explain to me (if you don't mind) the cardio setup that Andrew is talking about. Thanks!
Hey Michael,
I am using IE6.
Take care,
Andrew
Every time I even think about going off my meal plan I hear your voice from one of the first videos saying, you are on a shred mission so, "No Caesar." And now I find out you would not even "cheat" if offered cake with a side dish of a million dollars. Now that is commitment!
BTW, looking good, and I was able to get real pics up last night. Whoopee!
BTW, I think Dougal's photo gremlins were out on the attack last night. Maybe it was something to do with Halloween.
Josh! I don't know if you read these comments, but you are making stellar progress!
I use Firefox and can make comments in Michael's blog.
Hi Andrew,
Sound like you are shredding very hard my friend! That is a an awesome cycle and one which I basically followed for M1.
I'm currently doing my HIIT Cardio cycles like this:
1min@6 k/ph
2min@16 k/ph
Do this 10 times (add 1 more cycle every 2 days)
AND finish off with
3min@16 kp/h (add 10 more seconds every 2 days)
This is what I did tonight. Are you up for this one?
Cheers,
Adam
P.S. In an ideal world I'd increase above 16 k/ph but most treadmills top out at 16 k/ph
Thanks Dougal!
Hi Diane, I made a video on Zero Day that shows how I put my pics together. If you scroll way down you'll see it there.
Thank you Sammy, you are going great guns too mate!
Hi Micheal, the cardio set-up that Andrew is talking about is the BFL cardio plan which uses 1 min increments and intensity levels in cycles of 4.
On the last you do your top speed for 2 minutes. It is a great and efficient way to do cardio. I did this 3 times a week way back in 2000 on my BFL challenge.
Thank you Debbie for your kind words, Part 2 will be out on Day 8 (sorry).
Thank you Christy, that sounds scary! Having my voice in your head!
Cheers Shredders,
Adam Waters
Hey Adam,
Sounds like fun mate, of course I'm up for anything!!!
Just to confirm is the extra 3 mins after the 10 cycles of 6kph/16kph?
Our treads go to 22kph, but I will try this one first.
If my legs can handle it I will try it tomorrow and let you know, but they are really suffering today big time from the lower body and then the incline HIT yesterday, serious DOMS!
Take care,
Andrew
wow. I remember watching Body of Work, and I remember Everett saying that and for the past 3.5 years thats what I have done, use this as my anchor, the one thing I do have control of.
I am so glad you talked about the cheat day vs. cheat meal. I am currently following BFL, but I know the cheat day has kept me from progressing simply because I eat way too much. I am now getting it under control.
Loving the videos Adam! Your site and the info here has helped me more then you can know!
Take Care,
Yvette
