Day 438: Shredder Sunday Episode 2 - Video Q&A With Lilla!

G'day Shredders,

Welcome to Shredder Sunday: Episode 2.

Lilla, our resident Hawaiian Shredder asks me via video about my favorite reward meal. In answering this question I go into why a "reward meal" is better terminology than "cheat meal". I also touch on where I went wrong with my "reward meals" in the 6 years I failed to get back into shape.

Thanks for your question Lilla!

Chicken pasta??
Never heard that in Italy!!! LOL
But you are right about the cheat /reward meal.
BEHAVE!
I know is just a "word-word thing-game" but words have a very powerfull impact on our subconscious mind.
It depends how much you love yourself I guess...
A "cheat" meal could be just some sneaky food...like an hamburger and fries,,

But a "Reward Meal" ohohohohoho MAN.. I REWARD myself!

Smoke salmon and caviar on a bed of ice and lemom slices.

hand made pasta with fresh basil and fresh tomatoes guarnished with pure extra virgin olive oil

Kilet Stake grilled with rosemary

Fresh salad and tomatoes

Frozed yogurt with vanilla

Buon appetito!

Ohhh Massi, that all sounds so yummy! You're right - "cheat" reminds of junk food and "reward" makes me think of quality foods.

Adam, thanks for answering my question!!! That was a great video and explanation. It's always nice learning little personal details about you, like what your fav meal is or watching you sing karaoke. It makes it more fun & personal.
Love, Lilla

Adam, great video! I enjoyed it and thanks to Lilla for the question. Always good to see her cute face on video :-)

Second, a question: My provider for my blog changed DNS entries (and I know they work on my ISP) but I have not had a comment in 2 days, so I'm curious if you guys are having trouble reaching my blog. Let me know. Thanks!

I like the idea of a reward day instead of a cheat day. That was one thing I struggled with in the past was eating to many sugary treats and cheese which lead to guilt. I can honestly say I have reward days now, but I think you have to be in the right frame of mind to overcome the cheat days. I think because I put so many quality foods in my system that I am satisfied, and I don't even miss the garbage anymore.

Found your blog through another blogger, and your progress is amazing. It is great to see you maintained it way past your 100 days. Congrats! :)

Michael,
I did notice that I couldn't read the 1/19 post on your blog until today so maybe be something's up with provider.

Lilla, thanks for the input. I have a note in to support because overnight the IP address changed (as it should) and that's probably why you couldn't read the 1/19 post, but at least you go to it today. That makes me feel better.

Hi "Living to feel good", you definitely hit the nail on the head. That held me back for a long time, overdosing on junk and calling it a "free day" instead of having 1 reward meal.

Great blog too!

Adam, great reply and great idea! I have tended to use cheat meal, but after seeing this I think that reward meal is much more appropriate.

Cheers, Mike
