Day 280: Plan B Cardio Due To "Ekka" Holiday
G'day,
Shock, horror! I rocked up at the local gym here in Brisbane today and it was closed!
I had forgotten that today was a "show holiday" for Brisbanites. The Ekka (short for Exihibition) is a tradition that has been going for well over 100 years.
Every year the country folk come to Brisbane city for 10 days - and bring their animals with them - to display their wares and compete in ring events.
Of course, the main attraction for kids is the enormous amount of "showbags" filled with an assortment of candy and cartoon characters, along with a temporary amusement park.
I used to love going to the Ekka as a kid and I still remember the first time my father took me there when I was about 7 years old. It was a very cool experience that I'll never forget.
Anyway, since the gym was closed I had to revert (the 5th time this vacation) to my back-up plan...cardio.
I decided to run the same 2-leg journey as yesterday. I set myself the goal of beating yesterday's time on both legs of the journey.
The result...I smashed yesterday's time by 15 seconds!
Believe it or not, I still had a lot of gas left in the tank once I'd finished. I could have easily run the whole 2 legs again without resting, which I may actually do tomorrow.
Ok, time for me to get some rest.
Until tomorrow...
Eat Clean,
Shred Hard,
Think BIG!
Peace,
Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT
