Day 419: 2008 - The Year Of The Shred!

G'day Shredders,

I trust you had an enjoyable New Year Celebration with friends and family. Let's make 2008 a year to go down in our history books (blogs!) as the Year Of The Shred!

I have a lot of ideas on how we can together increase (and maintain) the "positive pressure" via the daily picture/blog accountability factor to make this Year Of The Shred become a reality.

Daily Accountability Really Does Work!

Over the course of 2007 we have proven that this form of daily accountability really does work. My fellow Shredders have made awesome progress over the course of 2007 because you have practiced daily picture/blog accountability and importantly taken action on your physique transformation goals. I look forward to shredding along side you in 2008!

For me personally, 2007 has been a wild ride which I discussed in depth back on Day 365. I have experienced some incredible highs and a few lows.

When I look back now I know that my success (and failure) at any particular time over 2007 can be traced back to the daily accountability factor - just take a look at my Mission 2 after pictures compared to my Mission 3 before pictures for proof!

Will you join me in making 2008, the Year of The Shred? If you answered yes I have some very cool news coming your way in the next few days. Stay tuned...

Shredder Council Important Message:

Would you believe I made a big error in calculating the end date of our 84 Day - Weekly Accountability Phase!? 84 Days from October 26, 2007 (start of Group Shred 1) is actually Friday, January 18, 2008 (not January 8, 2008).

Therefore, for simplicity sake I will make 3 more Shredder Council Weekly Wraps on each Friday (4, 11 and 18 January) in the lead-up to Day 84. So, the good news is that you still have 18 days left to bring it home and cement your place permanently in the Shredder Council!

Shredder Council Requirements:

Since we entered the holiday period about 3 weeks ago there has been a drop-off in the number of Council members sending in weekly accountability pictures. I fully realize that this is a hectic time of year so I am willing to start afresh for 2008, so below are the new requirements if you'd like to continue your participation in the Council.

I also realize that many original Council Members have started new missions and outlined new goals. I fully respect your decision either way, however I think its necessary to finish what we started so we can end this 84 Day Phase on a high note!

*For all existing members of the Shredder Council please send me your final 3 "merged" weekly pictures by 2:00PM each of the final 3 Fridays if you'd like to cement your place in the Council.

*If you are unable to meet this requirement I will have to remove your profile from the Council permanently.

I apologize if this seems harsh but if the Shredder Council is to have any significance and credibility we must adhere to some minimum accountability standards. However, since we have now entered a new year with renewed vigor to make this the Year Of The Shred you have the opportunity right now to get off to a flying start for 2008! Also, there is a lot you can achieve with 18 days of focused shredding!

The cool thing is that of you do participate in the final 3 weeks of this Weekly Accountability Phase I do have some very exciting things planned that I will discuss with you privately AND you will have a permanent place in Shredder Council folklore (hint: there are much bigger things to come along with the prizes I promised).

Important: I want to tip my hat to the Shredder Council Members who inspired the start of the ShredderSphere due to a desire to return to daily accountability. Together we have created another twist on daily accountability with a massive follow-through rate!

Day 8 of 84

Nutrition: For the third day in a row I got in every meal today and scored another "10". It feels great to kick off 2008 on the right foot!

Training: Today was a "forced rest day" due to January 1st being the No.1 public holiday in Japan. However, I did get in my push-up challenge quota as you can below. My rep counts after the first set (60 seconds rest) were very low though. Michael, how do you get such high numbers on your subsequent sets?!

*Important:

Feel free to use this plan as a template that you can follow. However, this plan is is based on my own personal experience over 3 physique transformation missions. In other words, what works for me may not work for you in the same way.

Success in this game requires research, individual design, real-world testing, monitoring results and making adjustments when necessary. This is your responsibility, no one else can do it for you. However, if you'd like to research further the exact programs I have used (over my first 3 Missions) and will use for M4 Shred you can do so at the links below.

M4 Shred Components: Click each link to learn more.

1) Fat Burning: 16 Principles of BFFM: nutrition, mindset and cardio.

2) Weight Training: Metabolic Surge: 36 Day Rapid Fat Loss System.

3) Six-Pack Training: Flatten Your Abs: 7-Level Training System.

Shredder Pact:

We will focus on the single daily actions that produce results.

We will "burn our bridges" and not look back.

We will never surrender.

Eat Clean,
Shred Hard,
Think BIG!
