==================================================================

G'day Shredders,

Today is without a doubt the greatest day of my life.

I have reached a major milestone of my real-time physique transformation journey. One whole year of (almost) daily blogging and daily picture accountability in the bag!

Crazy, Intense, Bizzare

This has been the craziest, most intense, bizarre, uplifting and rewarding year of my 33 years on this planet. I'll never forget these 365 days for as long as I live...actually I can't forget because this blog will live as long as I do!

To tell you the truth I did have a vision in my mind for this year but the reality of what has manifested has far exceeded my wildest dreams.

My "Past Life"

I started this blog while coming off 6 years of failed attempts to get (back) into shape AND my first failed attempt at blogging daily a physique transformation, so I was not filled with confidence when I started this blog on November 8, 2006.

However, my self-confidence skyrocketed after just 14 days (Group Shredders!?) of this blog/transformation attempt and I knew in my heart of hearts that my vision was manifesting into reality in real-time!

The Four Components Of Rapid-Fire Physique Transformation

All I had to do was continue taking the single daily actions required to manifest my new physique...and life. I planned and executed with near precision every one of the 4 major components of a rapid-fire physique transformation:
  1. Mindset
  2. Training
  3. Cardio
  4. Nutrition
I Outed My "Secret Blog"

Once I had 42 days of this "secret blog" under my belt I decided to go public with my transformation at Burn The Fat Inner Circle in order to increase the "positive pressure" to succeed by implementing real-time accountability...every single day.

From there I never looked back! I closed in on my first goal (which was to eat a chocolate cake on my birthday while holding a six-pack) with a level of discipline and dedication I never knew I had.

Shredding Like A Madman!

Once I reached my first goal, Mission 1, I decided to then up the ante by devising Mission 2, which would culminate in a public vote on whether my midsection qualified as a six-pack on March 24, 2007.

To increase the "positive pressure" I decided to put my $1,500 pre-paid "redemption trip" to Phuket on the line. I shredded like a madman on the 46 day mission and ultimately won the vote 61% to 39%.

Redemption In Phuket!

I went to Phuket and finally chilled out for the first time in 5 months. I did all the activities I had wanted to do on my previous trips to Phuket but never could due to my shape. I also went back to the same locations and took "redemption pictures" which was a blast!

My Mid-Year Crisis

However, once I got back from Phuket my life was turned upside down by a confluence of events that had mostly arisen due to my single-minded focus on one area of my life. To cap it off I ended up straining my wrist in a boxing accident which put me out of action for 21 days.

I had focused so heavily on transforming my physique at the expense of just about every other area of my life. In short, my life was not in balance...and I paid the price.

After delaying Mission 3 twice already I decided to come face-to-face with my backwards progression on Day 200. I was absolutely mortified when I saw my pictures.

I Was Absolutely Mortified By What I Had Become...Again

I felt like crawling under a rock and wiping this blog off the Internet. Here I was, a guy meant to be living the fitness lifestyle in real-time who was not practicing what he preached. I was gutted with myself for not following through on my original Mission 3 plan.

After some long heart-to-heart conversations with my family I decided there was only one way to dig myself out of this hole...start Mission 3! I then went to work on pre-Mission 3 training and gradually started to regain my confidence again.

The Moment Of Truth

Then came the moment of truth...Day 230. This was by far the most gut-wrenching time period of the whole year. I wondered how people would react when they saw a guy who had let himself go...again.

I would really like to take my hat off to my regular visitors who totally supportive throughout the early stages of Mission 3. They could have quite easily wrote me off and moved on but they stood by me. Thanks guys, I appreciate you.

As I have said many times Mission 3 was the by far the most important because it meant I would have to get back on the horse and practice what I preach over a long period of time. In short I would have to "live the fitness lifestyle" full-time if I was to make another physique transformation.

Mission 3 Final Pictures

While I still haven't completely nailed my goal of a shredded sixer I am extremely happy with my progress over Mission 3 given the circumstances. I feel that I have laid the groundwork for another full-blooded physique transformation for Mission 4.

So, without further adieu here are my Mission 3 final pics, Day 365 pics for November 8, 2007 (RTP Group Shred - Day 14 0f 14).

Hi Adam,
What a wonderful 14 days you have just given to me. And just the beginning! When I recall all the diets I have tried, all the pills, doctors and tricks that didn´t work, I find that here are some of the things I learned from the SHRED:

I needed GUIDANCE:
Someone to tell me what to do, how and when, so I read your BLOG, and copied it all...using your experience as my guide.

I needed a PLAN:
I ran out and bought Metabolism Surge, and followed it to the letter. I did the weights/cardio even tho was a bit difficult, but learned. Daily

I needed SUPPORT:
When you join a group like this one that is full of WINNERS, like my fellow Shredder´s are...then it´s easy. They push and pull and give advise, and you find it´s almost easy.

If there is another waaaaay past 50´s lady out there that thinks it´s too late to change, well, join this group and you´ll see that it´s not. I did it, and you can too. I found my PRW, and I found a ME that I knew was always there. Nothing´s going to stop me now yawl!
VIVA Adam Waters! VIVA the Shredders!

Hey Adam,

What a ride mate, you are there at the end of this trip, so how was that in flight movie!!!

You look great and have accomplished something amazing. I really do hope you have a few days or a week to chill out eat a few treats and get ready for mission 4. I am pretty sure I know what you are going to do!!

I have been on a quest to get fit for some time now and most of the time I have been moving forwards, slowly at times but forward. This last 14 days has really shown me the benefits of postive pressure and support. I have mostly not entirely but mostly up until now gone this alone but this past 14 days has really shown me how much easier it is with the support, help and encouragement of others. I am looking forward to the coming weeks and then end of my 10 weeks session. You have been a true inspiration.

I will send you my body stats tomorrow when I go to the gym. I am feeling much better today and I will try a session tomorrow.

Congratulations mate.

Take care,

Andrew

For me, I would say that my biggest take away from this is the comraderie of the Shredder Council. They are the reason I've worked as hard as I have. I know they will hold me accountable and I'm expecting them to keep an eye on me as we go forward. I learned that I CAN eat clean when I put my mind to it. I honestly believe, in my case, that nutrition is the key to my success because I've had the intense exercise issues handled already.

Thanks for getting us started on this journey, Adam. It was awesome and something I will always cherish.

Thank you for your message! That bought such a big smile to my face!

Hi Lynda, I really look forward to reading your blog and your comments everyday. You have such a passion and zest for life.

Thank you very much for your kind words and you have given great advice in your comment for people who may think they are "too old" to start a physique transformation challenge. (I actually thought I was "too old" at 32 when I started!).

Lynda, I believe that your story will inspire many ladies (and men) in the not too distant future.

G'day Andrew, mate you have been an incredible leader and shown massive support for members of the Shredder Council (everyone will agree!).

I can also see a change in your face, posture and a leanness to your stomach (you are getting lines!). You are a warrior mate, I know you have been sick the last couple of days but I have absolutely no doubt that you will be back on the horse hardcore, and make a full-blooded physique transformation.

I reckon you are gonna be real ripped, especially with your HIIT cardio levels of endurance.

Hey adam! First of all, congrats on reaching 365 days... Real Time! You look great in your pics mate. The top two abs are well separated, middle two are also well on their way now. Plus, your arms look much bigger than what it used to.

I have to say that your blog is one of the blogs I read almost daily even before this GS and before my blog started. It's what inspired me to go RT as well and when you opened an invitation for us to go on a GS, wow, it was unbelievable.

Thanks for this opportunity, the time you've put into this (the videos, blog posts, pics) and the support you've given by visiting every single blog.

The positive energy created by this GS group have been tremendous. I've decided to also hold myself accountable by taking daily pictures now and I have to say I'm eagerly waiting to hear about your Mission 4.

Cheers,

Sam

Being part of the RTP Group Shred was an amazing, experience.

I had no idea what to expect, was giddy with excitement, and, at first, a little nervous. But before Day One officially started, the nervousness subsided.

The Highs
The shredder roll call, reverse roll call and all of Adam's videos, the incredible bond between shredders, losing six pounds, getting kind comments daily from fellow shredders, and most importantly walking again.

The Lows
The photos. The process (which was time consuming) was not the hardest part, but actually seeing my pics on a regular basis and looking too closely for changes was really UN-FUN as I got into the second week. Staring at photos, for me, was like staring directly into the sun. The longer I did it, the less I could see. Take pics, post pics, spend your time eating clean (BIG component, super BIG component for me) shredding hard, and thinking big.

My Tips
• Take part in the Pre-Shred Excitement. It really gives you an extra jump on the good vibes and sets a tone for the entire shred.

• Give of thyself. Don't sit back and wait and expect people to read and comment on your blog. Get out there, read and post. You will feel more connected and more accountable. Plus, for me, there were some days when I was down, and reading good news on other people's blogs really lifted my spirits. I wouldn't have been invested in their good news if I didn't read every day.

• Did I mention to not stare at your photos?

• Fall in love with the process. Focus on your workouts, your eating, your blog, supporting your fellow shredders. Do not become overly focused on the results in your day to day. Set aside a set amount of time for you to check your progress (like weekly or in my case, the end of the shred) and fall in love with the shred. It will save you from getting too discouraged or if you turn a big result EARLY resting on your laurels.

If you are worried about whether or not you can do the shred, know you can. You cannot be in much worse physical shape than I was (I could not even walk or stand up without a walker). You do not need to be following the same program as everybody else, and you do not have to worry if it's the right time. There is always something you can do and you always have more to give than you think you do.

Invest in yourself. Take the plunge. I am very glad. I did. If you have any doubts or questions you can visit my blog and ask.
