Day 511: NYC Stealth Mission Aftermath - Secret Images Revealed After 8 Years
G'day Shredders,
As you know from my previous posts I had a professional photo shoot done while I was in New York.
I made light of this "event" by calling it the NYC Stealth Mission but there was a serious side to this shoot and why I did it.
In order to explain the underlying reasons why I had these NYC Pro Pics done I will share with you some other images I have kept secret for almost 8 years.
My 8 Year Old Secret Images
What you see below are my BFL Pro Pics that I have kept secret since June 2000, after I completed my first physique transformation attempt, Body For Life.
These were the first (and only) professional studio pictures I ever had done - until the NYC Stealth Mission.
BFL Pro Pics: June 2000
For 6 Years These BFL Pics Made Me Sick To My CoreIn and of itself this BFL Pro Pics are not significant as it was so long ago. However, put into the context of my 6 years of self imposed solitary confinement where I struggled to gain any momentum in my many failed physique transformation attempts they do have great significance for me.
The truth is that these BFL Pro Pics actually made me sick to my core. They were a constant reminder of the "good old days" when I first arrived in Japan when I was ready to "make it big".
I Had Big Dreams...8 Years Ago
Here's the truth, the foundation that this blog is built upon - daily picture accountability along with daily journaling - was something I first conceptualized over 7 years ago after I finished Body For Life. I had big dreams of becoming a fitness pro and helping other people transform their lives as well.
However, instead of taking action on my dreams I decided I would first "live the good life" and party like there was no tomorrow. By the time I stopped partying I was a shadow of my former self.
Guilt And Apathy Consumed Me
The guilt and apathy I felt from "letting myself go" then set in motion a vicious cycle of half-baked physique transformation attempts over the next 6 years where I would shred hard for a a few weeks only to self-sabotage myself due to the internal conflict that welled inside of me.
Throughout those 6 years of failed attempts I would occasionally take a peek at my BFL Pro Pics and they always had the same effect on me...they made me feel sick and disgusted with myself. I would look at those pics and wonder who that guy was and where he had gone. It was a bizzare feeling.
Silent Redemption
I guess the point I am trying to make here is that these NYC Pro Pics carried massive significance for me because it was my own 8 Year Silent Redemption.
Knowing ahead of time that I would get pro pics done was massive motivation for me to follow through on my M4 Shred Real Time Accountability Plan even when things looked fairly bleak over Christmas time.
Forward Projection Resulted In 98.09% Compliance
On the training days where my intensity levels were down I would often project myself forward and imagine myself in the NYC studio getting pics done. This always had the desired effect re-upping my intensity and discipline levels as the fear of not being in decent shape for the pro pics always outweighed the "pain" I would feel from the workout.
At the end of my M4 Shred: Real Time Accountability Project I finished with an overall compliance score of 98.09% for the whole 84 days. A major factor in this high compliance level was the upcoming NYC photo shoot.
While I believe there were a few things during M4 I could have done better I was quite pleased with the results of the M4 Shred and I feel good about the NYC photo shoot that has followed.
A Strong PRW Is Paramount
I guess the point of this post is to reinforce the importance of having a Powerful Reason Why (PRW) which I discuss at length in my free report.
I firmly believe the level of emotional intensity your PRW generates in your inner most core will be directly proportional to the effort you put in to your physique transformation attempt. As a consequence your PRW will also be directly proportional to the results you get. This I believe without a shadow of doubt.
All four Missions I have undertaken since I started this blog have been tied to a strong PRW:
Mission 1: PRW
Mission 2: PRW
Get redemption in Phuket by going back to the exact same beach I was at 6 months earlier (when I was overweight) with a shredded six-pack. I also drew a lot of "positive pressure" from the process by which the result would be decided, i.e. public vote.
Mission 3: PRW
Cap off the one-year anniversary of this blog on a high note by getting back into shape after hitting a slump midway through the year. Combined with this was the added incentive to practice what I preach during the original RTP Group Shred.
Mission 4: PRW Trifecta
The trifecta of PRW's for this Mission are self evident. Hitting my best ever physical condition in order to withstand the onslaught of M4 Training Day with Tom Venuto.

Added to that was the "positive pressure" to practice what I preach for the East Coast Shredder Summit with my Fellow New York Four Shredders, Suzette, Joni, Debbie and Lilla.
ECSS 2008:
New York Four Videos

This two events combined with my first pro pics in nearly 8 years (for the reasons I discussed above) created a trifecta of PRW's and a mountain of "positive pressure" to get the job done.

To learn more about you can create your own PRW I invite you to download my Free Report, My Biggest Secret at www.RTP-VIP.com Do this while you still can as this report will not be available in it's current form for much longer as I am about to overhaul the entire RTP Nerve Center.
Final Thoughts
I know there may be a few people reading this who have a belief that your "best years" are behind you and/or that you are "too old" get back into shape.
If this is you I know exactly how you feel because I felt the same way for 6 years. However, what I ultimately discovered midway during M1 was that I lacked a strong enough PRW to get the job done during those 6 years.
If you feel this way I would strongly urge you to take the time to connect with a genuine PRW that moves you into massive and immediate action.
When you start with a strong PRW you will get the kind of results that will alter your core beliefs about yourself and what you are capable of...trust me.
Shredder Pact:
We will focus on the single daily actions that produce results.
We will "burn our bridges" and not look back.
We will never surrender.
Eat Clean,
Shred Hard,
Think BIG!
Cheers,
Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT
P.S. Over the next two days I will wrap up the New York trip and get back to "real-time" on this blog...faster than you may imagine!
P.S.S. For all Shredder Council Members: The Shredder Heirarchy will be completely overhauled next Shredder Sunday. If you a current member who has not been active I advise you to resume daily accountability starting now if you'd like to retain your place in Shredder Council 2.0 (I have some exciting things planned!)

Hey there, awesome post today, great to read about your amazing journey so far and about the "serious" side of it i guess, the PRW is such an important starting point for change in our lives. your blog is an inspiration. LTY Kel.
Hi Adam,
I have been no-comment kind of follower of your blog. But not anymore.
CONGRATS for completing one more mission.
Anyway, also share with us your future plans. May be book :-)
RS
Adam, loved your post today. having a PRW is major key. And you have shown that sometimes it takes different things at different times in our lives that will propell us. this is something i have been thinking a lot about the past few days. the PRW has a lot to do with how your mindset is affected. without that PRW you have the mindset of "who cares?" or "so what". finding a PRW is truly a soul searching endeavor. What will move me to action?
i am excited to learn about what you have in store for the Shredder Council 2.0!
RTP Warrior,
Suzette
I love this post today! I was just reconnecting with my own PRW after reading Lynda's blog a few days ago. I'm so glad I've gotten back to daily posting just in time for Shredder Council 2.0!
Hi Kel, thanks for your kind words. Yeah I believe a PRW is massive and can make all the difference!
Adam
Hi RS, thanks for your kind words and feel free to comment any time!
Adam
"finding a PRW is truly a soul searching endeavor" This is spot on Suzette! Also Shredder Council 2.0 is gonna be massive! Among many other things it will be first and foremost a real mastermind group.

Hmmm, I thought I'd posted a comment, but can't see it anywhere. Anyway - this post is great and it is a true tribute to your efforts over the four missions (and before). it is great to see the progress you have made and as I've said before the positive effect it has on others in the community,
Hi Adam,
Ever since i discovered your blog, read its entries and your report - i've been able to focus my mental energies in the right direction. With your help, i finally realized and understood that it was the PRW which was missing from my own mindset. I'm sure i can't say it enough: Thank you for sharing your epiphanies. Your enlightening RTP journey and many experiences continue to motivate me, as well as positively affect others in-kind.
Awesome awesome post, Secret Agent A! You continue to inspire me more than I can say.
Adam, I am so looking forward to shredder 2. Count me in. You continue to be my inspiration but the PRW is mine. Well done mate.
