Day 367: After 14 Hours Of Blog Updating I Got A Big Tip For You!

G'day,

Oohh man, what a job this turned out to be!

Today I set two tasks two complete:

  1. Update the header graphic to show the M3 pictures.
  2. Create a "Category" section using Blogger's "labels" feature.
I set aside 4 hours to get the job done...14 hours ago!

New Header Graphic Is Up, BUT...

Anyway, after a few hours of tweaking I have finally finished the new header graphic which you can see above.

I have been eagerly anticipating updating this header graphic since I started Mission 3 back on Day 230, June 26, 2007. I never liked the look of having a half-completed Mission at the top of this page!

But, in my eagerness to get this new header graphic online the navigation links below won't be operational until my Expert Tech Support buddy, Garry Egan (Link to Garry's Site) can work his magic!

I'm not sure how long this will take so please bare with me!

My Big Tip For Bloggers

Also, on a sidenote I never realized how powerful the "Labels" feature is on Blogger. I had been racking my brain for ages trying to figure out ways to make navigation by "Topics" and "Real-Time Recaps" easier (It gets a little complicated when you have over 340 blog posts!).

It only dawned on me recently how to use "Labels" to categorize blog posts into "Topics" so I have spent the last couple of days getting that done. You can see the new category section in the right-hand nav bar.

My tip for bloggers (and especially the Shredder Council!) is to start using labels early on so you don't have to spend hours going back to re-categorize individual blog posts like I did. It is much easier to do it once and keep categorizing as you go, trust me!

Time for me to get some sleep now...

Until tomorrow...

Eat Clean,
Shred Hard,
Think BIG!

great tip! i never thought about the labeling thing. the header looks complete! what will you do for mission 4? might have to bump out one of your other "middle" missions. maybe having mission 1 with the "ending" mission. just thoughts off the top of my head.
eager about getting that "special" rtp shredder gear!

Hey Adam, woah it must have taken you ALOT of time to sort out the labels man (having done it on a smaller extent myself before). But it's much easier to navigate through the website now. :)

btw, did u send the 84 days ebook to our mail?

Oh. That's what that label thing is for. Yikes. Good to know.

BTW, I just put my wrap up in Day 365 comments. Hope you are out having fun on your one week off. Do not respond to this comment on your one week off. :)

Hi Suzette, yeah labelling makes it much easier! I think I'll just keep Mission 4 on the sidebar until its complete then squeeze them into the header.

My plan is to have special "shredder gear" for you guys when you finish 12 weeks as a mini-incentive!

Cheers,
Adam J

I so KNEW it. You couldn't leave just one lone comment sitting there unanswered. You can resist an open bag of potato chips, but not an open comment. lol
