Day 402: Going Down To The Wire...

G'day,

Would you believe that the 66 Seconds Video Contest is still going! I was under the impression that it would be over in 24 hours but it seems to have been extended for another 8 hours.

So, from what I understand now, the contest will be wrapped up by 7:30 (RTP Time) meaning there is about another 3 hours to go.

5:30 PM Update:

Below is a screenshot of the current Top 3 in the Compelling Category. You can see that my video currently has 53 Diggs which is 6 Diggs behind the leader (puppet snowman) and 12 Diggs in front of the 3rd placed video (Andrew Lock's video).

*3:00 AM Update:

Hard to believe but the contest is still going 38 hours later! I am now only 1 Digg behind the "puppet snowman" with the current tally of 63 vs. 64. I really have no idea when this contest will end...I just hope there is a definite result by the time I wake up tomorrow. Either way the result goes is ok by me.

To tell you the truth I'll be glad when this contest is over as I wasn't able to focus fully on my workout this morning.

Doing these kind of contests are fun but they can be a little draining. I definitely will not be entering any more online contests until I finish Mission 4. If you would like to vote details are below.

How To Vote:

If you feel that my video submission (shown below) is worthy of your vote you can Digg the video at this link:

I'll be back later on today with a ShredderSphere update after I finish my workout.

Shredder Council Update: My "Secret Blog" Revealed Tomorrow

Just a reminder to Shredder Council Members to please have your weekly pictures to me by 2:00PM tomorrow. Also, in tomorrow's video I will finally discuss my "secret blog" that I have never posted on this blog before.

I'll talk about what I learned from my first attempt at blogging a physique transformation and why I failed to make any progress over this time period (I actually went backwards). Actually, you can see a few frames of this old blog in the video above.

Readers of My Biggest Secret will be familiar with this story, however I'll also discuss some specific details that I've never gone into before like where I went wrong with my training and nutrition.

ShredderSphere Update: Thank you Raiden

Thank you Raiden for your kind offer to organize a HTML Table for the ShredderSphere layout. If you could do that I would really appreciate it. Just leave a comment in this post if you can. Thanks mate.

Shredder Pact:

We will focus on the single daily actions that produce results.

We will "burn our bridges" and not look back.

We will never surrender.

Until tomorrow...

Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT

P.S.
Below are my Day 402 RTP Blog Daily pictures for December 15, 2007: Mission 4 - Day 27 of 125.

P.S.S. No RTP Time Machine today because I wore those dreaded pink pants on December 15, 2006!

This contest is killing me. Why am I so emotionally invested in this? :-) What makes me so cyber-mad (not really mad) is that if you were in any other category you would have won ten times over already. I hate that Snowman. (Not real hate just cyber frustration over said Snowman video's existence in this category). People, get friends or whatnot to vote or better yet, maybe I should get a life. lol Vote, vote, vote.

Haha, this is starting get a little wierd I think too Christy. The contest has been going for 38 hours now (they said it would go for 24 hours originally). To be honest I don't think "puppet snowman" belongs in the "Compelling" category.

"Mr Snowman" also has an "amazing" Digg conversion rate of 64 Diggs on 215 views of his video. On the other hand my video has over 1,700 views at 61 Diggs.

My Digg conversion rate is actually very good considering the last time I was on Digg "84 Days In 48 Seconds video" I got 350 Diggs on about 40,000 views. That is the reality of Digg in the "real world".

Anyway, I just hope there is a result by tomorrow morning so I can get my focus back to M4.

Thanks for your support Christy.

Alright Shredders,
If we each find at least 2 more people to DIGG Adam, we can wrap this thing up and call it a day. Go on - get the mailman, your girlfriend, mom, anybody,to start Digging!

Haha Lilla, thanks for your effort. To be honest though it really is ok if I don't win this contest.

The contest we have daily with ourselves (accountability and discipline) is much more important to me.

Hey Adam, to clarify, I didn't mean do an html table, I meant just do blog thumbnails like you currently have, but add to the thumbnail text (in the image) of the person's name.

If you place the text on a semi-transparent background, then you can get enough contrast to read the name, still see almost all of the blog thumbnail, and use a consistent colour for all of them.

I'll do some up tomorrow and show you what I mean, and then you can decide if you want to use them or not.

Thanks Raiden, that would be great mate. Once I get a visual of what you mean exactly it will be easier to understand.

Cheers,
Adam

Hey Adam,

I'm the guy behind the snowman video and just wanted to clear a couple things up. My video views to digg ratio is "amazing" because YouTube isn't the only place I have my video. To date I've got 306 views on YouTube, 32 on Yahoo, 1 on MySpace, 347 on Metacafe, 9 on Google, 14 on Revver, and 3 on DailyMotion. I've also got it uploaded in Facebook and have posted it in a number of groups, including my own asking people to vote for me that has 99 members (including Rich Schefren). I just don't want to be that guy that is thought of as playing dirty pool.

I've been posting the results of this contest in videos on my blog (http://www.reginabusinessblog.com), participating in different communities, facebook, blogs, commenting on other videos and digging other videos in the contest as well. It's been quite taxing, because like you I haven't been able to focus my attention on my primary goal, which is my business.

I really liked your video and think it's amazing what you've managed to do. You have become a maven in the fitness industry and are putting everything Rich has taught to good use.

Like I said in my Digg comment on your video, you've got a supporter in me and I'll be a frequent visitor to your blog to see how you are making out.

All the best.

Sean Stefan

Hi Sean, its cool man, thanks for coming here to clear it up. At first glance your stats did seem to be "amazing" as I put it.

This contest is starting to feel like a test of patience rather than a test of Diggs as it is now 3 days into a 24 hour contest.

I'm pretty sure this is by design, however I think they should wrap it up and select a winner. That way we can all get back to business.

Cheers,
Adam

Hey Adam,

Thanks for the encouragement on your Digg thread. I just graduated with my business degree in May, so I'm of the age where Facebook is becoming the primary method of communication. Sadly I get more traction there than I do at my blog.

I totally agree that this contest has become far too consuming for me too. I guess it's the fact that there was no cut off time for when the contest was to end (even though they said 24 hours). In the end it will come down to Rich's team at Strategic Profits anyway. Regardless of the outcome, my plan remains the same as I'm sure yours does.

Keep up the good work and best of luck to you. Keep inspiring people every day. I've lost 10 pounds in 3 months but you've got me motivated to trim the last 20.

Hi Sean, that's the spirit mate. Our destiny is in our own hands, time to move on and make our own visions manifest into reality.

Keep up your own shredding and if you start a blog let me know.

Finally, sorry about jumping to conclusions about your Digg votes, I was only going off YouTube views as I thought that was the primary indictor for Digg Vote legitimacy. I didn't take into consideration that you may have other networks so I am sorry for that.

All the best,
Adam
