Day 27 Pics: Extreme Cardio!

Day 27 of 84

Status - Round 3: Phase 1: Day 3

G'day,

Today was a great day. I ate right and trained hard...just the way it should be if you are gunning for a six-pack within 12 weeks.

I hit a cardio milestone today. I did 4 cycles of 6, 12, 14, 16 km/h (1 minute each) on the treadmill. My target was 2 minutes on 16 km/h on the last "high point" cycle, though I came up a little short doing 1 min, 20 sec. However, I am stoked just to be in this territory, I haven't been able to reach these speeds for 6 and a half years.

After topping out last week at 6, 11.5, 13.5 and 15.5 km/h I totally psyched myself up to go for it today. I am proud of my efforts. Tomorrow I will aim for 1 min. 40 seconds (or better) on the last cycle...Yeah!

Like I have said previously you can do body-fat and measurement checks till the cows come home but you can't beat real-world indicators of speed and strength.

I now feel like I am getting close to the "tipping point", a combo of my metabolism burning like a furnace, muscle gain and cardio speed. All these factors can fast track your fat loss at quantum speed. This is what I am gunning for with unstoppable momentum.

TIP: When you do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) for cardio don't eat for 1 to 2 hours afterwards. This allows your body to keep drawing on fat reserves in that period while your body is revved up. This is called the "afterburn affect."

Here are Day 27 pics for December 4, 2006.

Peace, AJ
