Day 253: A Well-Earned Rest Day!

G'day,

Today is a day of rest from working out and blogging, so therefore today's post will be quite short. I've had a brutal schedule the last few days so this rest day was well-earned!

Why is rest such an integral part of a full-blooded physique transformation? Well, taking a break from your regular training and nutrition plan is very important for a few reasons.

First and foremost it gives your body a rest and allows you to physically re-charge your batteries.

Secondly, it also gives you a mental break from the day-to-day grind which is just as important as the physical rest.

Thirdly, a rest from training also prevents over-training which can lead to injuries and allows for little "niggles" or "twinges" to recover.

Finally the rest you take can also co-coincide with a "reward meal" like ice cream, pizza, beer...whatever you want as long as you don't go overboard!

Well, time for me to get some sleep...

Peace,
AJ

P.S. A rest day from pictures as well.

Hi, Adam!
I wish you have spent your rest day well :)
I also wanted to say a few words for support.
I believe that you will achieve your goal. Don't pay attention to the crap that those, driven by envy, spit out. Really, some people enjoy spitting poison or sth...
I think you have proven yourself in every possible way by now. People should have only admiration for you.
I think that the thing you are doing is such an inspiration to many people around the world (including me :)) that the bad comments should be nothing compared to that. To put it even better - YOU are the inspiration.

So, keeo going and good luck! You CAN do it.
Maybe this sentence doesn't suit here, it is a bit odd, but I like it: enjoy while you can-can ;)

G'day Adam! - just want to let you know that seeing your video has motivated me to get on the Metabolic Surge. I tried day 1 today and the workout was really different from anything I tried before. Amazing how many people want to have a conversation with you while you are jumping between weights and the stairclimber! Anyway - I'm going on 1 week vacation to Mexico this weekend so I'm not starting the program in earnest until I get back. Hopefully I'll have my own video in a few months!!

Adam, you deserve a rest...the mental breaks are just as good, if not better, than the physical break. I receive and awesome quote today that I wanted to share. "to change your physical world, first change your mental one. YOur life is the exact outward expression of your beliefs, thought patterns and visualizations. Change your thoughts and you'll change your world." I truly appreciated your heartfelt post of thanks from yesterday. I think everyone will agree when i say, "YOU ROCK!"

Thanks guys for your kind words.

Helena, you are spot on. Its all about what you focus on, unfortunately in the midst of everything I focused on the negative. But now with that experience well and truly behind me, I'm back now focusing on the positive. Its true, whatever you focus on or spend your time thinking about you will attract (sometimes it will be magnified even further in your own mind as it was for me).

Awesome Jon, you took action and are following through. Nothing would please me more than to see someone make their own video like the one I did.
