Day 401: Breaking News...Can You Digg It?

G'day Shredders,

The clock is ticking on my contest video submission for the 66 Seconds Video Contest. My video has been placed into the "Compelling Category" and the winning video will be determined by the amount of "Diggs" it gets over the next 24 hours.

How To Vote:

If you feel that this video (shown below) is worthy of your vote you can Digg the video at this link:

http://digg.com/health/Amazing_Body_Transformation

N.B. If you do not currently have a Digg account you can sign up for free while you are at Digg. It only takes a few minutes.

Digg Vote Status:

2:00 PM - At the moment I am trailing the leader by a few votes so I think it will go down to the wire...every vote counts!

7:30 PM - Thank you Shredders, I am now only one Digg behind the leader. This really will go down to the wire...

12:00 PM - Thank you again to everyone who has voted. I currently have my nose in front. However, every vote is still critical as I have a feeling this is still wide open. Ooohhh man, I gotta get some sleep now! Tomorrow is a big training day, a double session.

12:30 PM (Day 402) - I have a feeling I'm gonna get pipped at the post by the puppet snowman. I'm one Digg in front and he is gaining rapidly. Well, it was fun while it lasted! Now back to the gym...

The "Compelling Category" Leaderboard

My video (as well as the other videos in the Compelling Category) can be seen at this link:

http://www.strategicprofits.com/66-seconds-compelling/

Also, if I do happen to win the "Compelling Category" you can bet that the accountability factor is gonna go through the roof for all of us as this video, this blog and the Shredder Council & ShredderSphere will be seen by a lot of people.

As I have touched on previously: More Blog Traffic = More Accountability

I gotta go to the gym now, I'll be back later today with some big improvements to the ShredderSphere and a new video.

*Day 401: PM Update

Hello again Shredders,

What a day! Its pretty hectic over here today with the online vote. I'd like to say thank to everyone who has voted. This feels like Day 136 deja'vu!

ShredderSphere Is Off To A Flyer!

Day 1 of the ShredderSphere is off to a flying start with all members making an entry on their Daily Accountability Blog.

It's great to see, I have a very strong feeling that this new accountability structure will result in a lot of head-turning physique transformations as measured by our own self-imposed deadlines and goals.

I'd Like Your Opinion On The ShredderSphere Layout

I am still working on a new layout for the ShredderSphere, but before I go any further I would like your opinion. Do you prefer the blog screenshot style or would text links (like in the original Group Shred) work better? Or a combination of both?

Just drop me a note in today's comment section and I'll have it ready by tomorrow depending on what the majority decision is.

New Video...By Lilla!

As I promised earlier today I have a new video for you...by Lilla! That's right our Shredder Council Certified Shredder has discovered a secret audition video tape for American Idol I did way back in the day!

While Simon didn't like my performance too much the "Guest Judge" seemed to like it!

Thank you Lilla, that was so cool!

Shredder Pact:

We will focus on the single daily actions that produce results.

We will "burn our bridges" and not look back.

We will never surrender.

Until tomorrow...

Eat Clean,
Shred Hard,
Think BIG!

Cheers,
Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT

P.S. I'll have a new video tomorrow Shredders where I'll reveal a secret of my own! This one is big (but maybe not as big as Lilla's discovery!).

P.S.S. I'd also like to welcome Suzette, Founding Member of the Shredder Council into the ShredderSphere. I misunderstood Suzette's comment in Day 397. Sorry Suzette, shred hard and I look forward to catching up with you at the East Coast Shredder Summit!

P.S.S.S. Below are my Day 401 RTP Blog Daily pictures for December 14, 2007: Mission 4 - Day 26 of 125.

P.S.S.S. This video explains the deja'vu feeling I am having today, and its not over yet!

M2 Judgement Day
- The Six-Pack Verdict

94 Responses from 22 Countries over 12 hours to my public vote on my blog as to whether my midsection qualified as a six-pack. At stake is my $1500 pre-paid "redemption trip" to Phuket. The following takes place on March 24, 2007. Events occur in real-time.

Hi Rockon, I honestly don't know who you are but I am sorry for your injury. My training methods come right out of BFFM, Surge and FYA which are used by thousands of people around the world. These methods are intense but I don't know how you could break a leg due to the advice in these books. How did you you break your leg?

Hey you added stuff to the post or I missed it. Regarding the links, I like what you have, but I like plain old links. It's easier for me to visit everybody in a row really quick, and I like to know the name of the people or the blog so I can match it to comments. But mostly, I want it to be as easy for you as possible so whichever way that is, that gets my vote.

PS I just love Lilla's videos.

Hi Christy, yeah I just made a PM update to the post. I kinda like text links too. Regarding screenshot links its quite tough to get the alignment right especially if I add text to it as well.

Yeah, isn't Lilla great at making videos!

Cheers,
Adam

I kind of prefer the screenshot links - They are more colorful and inviting than plain text. I see your point though about not knowing the blogger's name. Adam, have you tried building a table with the screenshot and names so it's easier to line up?

Hey Adam,

Just a quick update, its been a week since I changed my diet and work out pattern with your help. I’m now eating ~145g of protein per day, my gym work out has changed to reduce the cardio and I’m also doing a lot more weights! I’m sticking with the 900-1100 calories a day which is working great with no sign of a significant metabolic slowdown, but I’m monitoring it very careful, at the very first sign of trouble I’ll adapt the diet.

I’m continuing to lose weight at a steady rate of 1.5-2lbs a week, although obviously tracking weight loss over a single week can be misleading. My arms (what I’ve been focusing on this week) are visually larger, more defined and slowly increasing in strength! They certainly aren’t wasting away anymore, that’s for sure!

I’m still struggling to lose weight from my chest and abdomen, it really seems to be well established there but I think I’ll just have to keep blasting away at it with alternate bouts of cardio and resistance till I get it. It actually looks a bit odd now, when I was overweight it was all in proportion but now I’ve got a skeletal face and arms, slender sides and a little pot belly lol! But I shall persevere on, eventually I’ll get it!

All the best with the revised M4! Looking forward to seeing what you all achieve!

Nick

(sorry for the essay again! god I need to learn to be concise!)

If you look like this now.... I can imagine how you are going to look at the end of this mission and how much more you are going to motivate us THANK YOU.....

Adam,

Quick ?:
How do you capture a stillshot of our blogs and my video?

Thanx!

Hey Adam,

Although the screenshots look great, my preference would be for simple text links. Not sure what other shredders think, but I think it would be great if the links opened up in a separate window. I find navigating back to your blog a bit cumbersome when I've been down in someones blog, especially after commenting and moving through several screens.

Keep up the good work - as I said before your efforts are really appreciated and I'm sure we will all benefit greatly.

Cheers,
Mike

Adam, thanks for adding me in. when I saw that I wasn't in there I knew I probably didn't word my comments right. so, no worries! I am totally psyched about meeting you in NYC !
as to the screenshots vs. text links. whatever makes it easier for you!
"Founding Member of the Shredder Council"?

Hi Lilla,

I have tried tables before but for dome reason they don't work well in Blogger. For screenshots I use SnapzTools Pro for Mac. I'm pretty sure there are equivalent versions for Windows.

Hi Nick, great to hear from you and even better to hear that you are following through. Your rate of weight loss seems on track for a full-blooded physique transformation (Most experts say a rate of between 0.5% to 1.0% of bodyfat is a good level).

As you may have read before in BFFM "spot reduction" is a myth, we can't pick and choose where the fat goes off. But, over time I'm sure you'll find that your body "evens out".

Shred on,
Adam

Thanks Luis, I kinda wonder too because I have never been in this shape 99 days out from the end of a mission. I'm gonna find out what I'm really capable of.

BTW, I found your current pics today right at the bottom of your blog. You have made stunning progress and your big smile says it all!

Shred on,
Adam

Adam Waters said...

Thanks for your feedback Mike, I'll look into how to make links open up in a new window. I know its pretty simple but I usually just use the default link setting on Blogger.

Hi Suzette, consider us both psyched! You definitely are a founding member of the Shredder Council as you were one of the first people who started your own blog and you have stuck with it for a long time now. And you are a driving force behind it now because you lead by example and are always generous with support.

Shred on,
Adam

Hey Adam, link to a new window is pretty simple

"If you add a target="_blank", the page will open in a new window:"

-from http://www.echoecho.com/htmllinks10.htm

Also, regarding the blog pics and links, what about putting a bit of "image" text overtop the blog pics with just the person's first name? So you get both text and visual representation, but without having to fudge around with the text alignmnet.

You might have to change the text color depending on the blog, or you could use a semi-transparent label area to add contrast. If you like this idea, heck, let me know and I'd even do up the thumbnails e-mail them to you.

Yeah, I found out tables in blogger are messed too. Michael's lucky that he controls his own blog. His workout tables align perfectly.
