Day 406: Switching To Shred Mode
G'day Shredders,
I'm a little late with this Day 406 Post because I made a very important decision yesterday and as a consequence I had I spend a lot of time re-mapping the next 94 days of M4.
My "Building Phase" Cut Short
As you can see from my M4 Goal Graphic I intended to go on a "building phase" until Day 431. I would then go on a "shred phase" to burn the fat (cracking a genuine six-pack!) in the lead-up to Day 500.
I am extremely happy with my progress on this "muscle building" phase as I have set new personal bests across the park for the "big" compound exercises like Deadlifts, Squats and Barbell Bench Press.
N.B. I have also been following an awesome new muscle gain weight training program that I am eager to tell you all about. However, my policy on this blog since Day 1 is not to discuss/promote programs that I have not completed at least 2 times over (and gotten tangible results). I will not change this policy now, but I will discuss and document this new program in greater depth when I undertake Mission 5.
Switching To "Shred Mode"
However, I know from my daily pics that I am actually moving further from my goal of a "shredded sixer" by Day 500 the longer I continue this phase. The reason is quite simple, I must be on a caloric surplus in order to gain muscle. Being on a caloric surplus is not conducive to a six-pack.
In light of this I have made the decision to switch to shred mode as of today. I will exercise extreme discipline in my nutrition and training with a laser targeted focus on a shredded sixer by Day 500. Time is of the essence!
RTP Time Machine = Great News!
The good news is that I have never been in this kind of shape so far out from the end of a mission. I am feeling great physically and my mindset is dialed in. Even better, I know exactly where I was this time last year (RTP Time Machine currently on Mission 1 - Day 41) and what I achieved over the course of the next 95 days (M2 Judgement Day on Day 136).
I know exactly what I did (due to my meticulous note taking!) and I know exactly what is required as well as areas I can improve on. Put simply, I am extremely confident that I will hit that sixer by Day 500. However, rather than say what I'm gonna do I'd rather just let my pictures do the talking!
N.B. From Day 410 onwards I will also be documenting my exact workouts and meal plans in each blog post. Stay tuned...
We will focus on the single daily actions that produce results.
We will "burn our bridges" and not look back.
We will never surrender.
Until tomorrow...
Eat Clean,
Shred Hard,
Think BIG!
Cheers,
Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT
P.S. Below are my Day 406 RTP Blog Daily pictures for December 19, 2007: Mission 4 - Day 31 of 125.
P.S.S. Hi Raiden, I got your thumbnail mate. Thanks man, I'll get back to you soon.
