Day 335: A Surreal Day...Japanese TV Crew In My House!
G'day,
I think I almost had an outer-body experience today!
Like An Outer-Body Experience!
It felt like I was viewing myself and my journey from above as the Japanese TV crew, director and translator were filming me do the normal things I do every day, i.e. go to the gym, eat salmon salad and take a daily picture.
Another reason why it felt surreal is that I rarely give myself a time-out to reflect on my journey as a whole. I just focus on getting the job done each day.
However, in order to best explain my story to TV viewers I had to revisit (in full color printouts!) my earlier days and hold up the pictures standing in this same doorway as proof.
Filming At The Gym
We also went to the local Osaka gym where I work out. I think there were quite a few surprised faces when they saw a camera crew filming me as most people there don't know about my journey (or that I blog daily).
However, as I already did my "real" workout a couple of hours earlier I didn't have much energy left for the shoot. Luckily I only had to do four 10-rep sets on bench press, shoulder press, bicep curls and deadlifts for the whole shoot.
Filming At My House
When we got back to my apartment I had to eat my pre-made salmon salad for the camera. This was kinda funny as they took a close-up of the salad and me eating it!
I then set up my tripod (their tripod was much bigger!) for my Day 335 picture. They then filmed me as I walked over and hit the 10-sec timer and walked back to the doorway for the shot.
This was also very surreal as I have been doing this for so long now so it's "normal" for me, but it was quite a novelty for the crew I think.
However, when I think back to "Day 1" I could never have imagined that a TV crew would be filming me 335 days later!
Air Time And Date
All up it took about 4 hours to film all the segments which will be compressed down into a 3-minute piece! If you live in Japan (or have access to NHK World) you can watch my segment on @Human on NHK Channel 2 on Sunday, October 14, 2007 from 11.00PM.
My segment will air in a section of the show called Hayai-mimi (Translation: catching what will soon be "famous" or "big"). I'm actually very interested in seeing how they edit down all the filming into 3 minutes!
Thank You
Before I sign off I'd like to thank the NHK Program Director for giving me the chance to tell my story along with the Translator and the Camera Crew for their big effort. Thanks guys!
I'd also like to say thank you to the gym owner for giving us permission to shoot at his gym as well as the staff who are very cool.
I sincerely hope that this story (when it goes to air) does inspire a few people to take action on their physique transformation goals and realize that it is never too late to live your dreams, no matter how many times you have "failed" in the past.
Ok, time for me to get some rest and slip into the "real dreamland"!
Peace,
Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT

Sounds like you had a pretty amazing day mate. I hope the results you reap are just as amazing.
What's next ehhh:
Adam Waters: Eat Clean, Shred Hard, Think BIG Inner Circle??!!
Or maybe a few emails from Tom Venuto asking for some advice.
I guess at this stage the possibilities are now endless. All the best and keep up the amazing work not long now until the end of M3!!
Take care,
Andrew
Congratulations! And way to go on doing your workout before the big shoot. Wow that's dedicated. I hope you get TONS of traffic and people wanting to train with you ASAP.
Hi Adam, congratulations, I'm sure you're about to reach your dream. This is a big step man!
By the way, please do something so we can see the video, I don't know, record it or something! we can't miss it!
Have a great day Adam and congratulations again.
Yes, please record for us so we can see your clip. they should also, I think, give you copy of the clip.
anyways, what an awesome experience for you! You should be so Proud! I am sure this will propel you even more with your transformation goals.
Good on ya man, You are the bomb. You created all this in your head first and then made it a reality.
You are living proof that you can have, be and do anything you want.
Shows what happens when you give unconditionally.
You deserve everything you get back bud.
BTW, hold thumbs for us in the semi's now that you guys are out of RWC.
Hi Andrew,
Haha, thanks mate but I gotta practice what I preach for the next 20 years before I even consider myself anywhere in the same ballpark as Tom Venuto!
BTW, how is your transformation progressing?
Cheers,
Adam Waters
Hi Christy, yeah because I got in my "real workout" 2 hours earlier I think the TV crew may have been surprised at how little I could lift!
As far as I know this show goes out to between 3 and 7 million people so it will be interesting to see how many visits my blog gets the next day. I know from my YouTube experience it takes a massive amount of video views to bring traffic.
Cheers,
Adam Waters
Hi Celina and Suzette, thanks guys for your kind words! The director said he would give me a DVD of the clip so hopefully I'll be able to compress down a version for the web not too long after it airs.
Cheers,
Adam Waters
Hi Dougal, you are spot on mate. Everything really is created in the mind first, we must see/visualize it first, then we act on it.
Cheers,
Adam Waters
P.S. I'll definitely be cheering for SA in the RWC now mate, you guys have a great shot at winning now that the All Blacks and Wallabies have been taken out!
Hi again Andrew, I just checked your blog, thanks mate for your kind words!

Hey Adam,
No problem, you deserve them and more, as hopefully you saw things are progressing at a good pace. I am finding the accountability is spurring me on at the end of the workouts!! New stats will be posted tonight, not great this week but still in the right direction though so a shake up next week to get the body guessing again. Still on track for the 10 week goal though.
Take care,
Andrew
