Day 339 (Part 1): Lactic Acid Training and Extremely Smoked Salmon!

I'm just gonna post a quick daily picture right now as I have to head into Shinsaibashi (Downtown Osaka) to meet some people.

Lactic Acid Training Technique

I had a really good workout today doing Lactic Acid (LT) hitting chest, back, biceps and calves.

For those that don't know about this type of training it basically calls for 8 sets on major bodyparts (chest and back) with 20 seconds rest in between each set.

The twist here is that your first set requires 20 plus reps. This is what I call a "rep counting" type of workout as you can easily track your progress from one LT session to the next by monitoring the amount of reps you can pump out (especially on the first 20 rep set).

How To Harness The Power Of "Rep Counting"

Another factor at play that enhances this "rep counting" technique is the fact that your other training variables like rest period and weight increment remain the same for the duration of each bodypart exercise.

Here's my big tip for those of you who are doing LT Training. Always aim to pump out at least one more rep on your first set of 20 plus AND on your last set compared to your second last set.

These Moments Shape Your Destiny

No matter how much "pain" your are going through really endeavor to hit those two targets for every LT Session. It is in these intense moments that your destiny is shaped, when you feel you can't give anymore, that is the exact time to give more!

For example today I pumped out 21 reps (1 more than my previous LT workout) on the first set on barbell bench press.

One rep may sound insignificant BUT the principle of "progressive overload" at play is absolutely paramount in determining the success of your own physique transformation challenge.

On A Lighter Note!

I grilled some salmon when I got home from my workout so I could get some protein in as quickly as possible (very important!). I put it on low heat like I usually do and then completely forgot about it!

I then decided to go and do my washing in the laundromat down on the ground floor of my apartment. Once I got back upstairs to my apartment my room was filled in a cloud of very smoked salmon. I still ate it and I didn't have any other protein handy.

I then took my Day 339 pics straight after. I think its safe to say that you can probably see the remnants of that extremely smoked salmon in today's picture!

More "Spy Pics" To Come Later Today

Anyway, I'll back later on today with part 2 of Day 339 with a preview of some more "spy pics" from the RTP Casual Wear selection! I just gotta put the final touches on a few new designs and incorporate the excellent feedback I got from yesterday's blog post.

Until then...
