G'day Shredders,

What a ride the last few days has been!

I've shredded as hard as I possibly could, eaten as clean as I possibly can AND used 4 different cameras in the last 5 days to take my daily pictures!

I'm just about at breaking point! I can imagine how you guys are feeling as well, this has been a very intense period for all of us on this 14-Day Group Shred.

Have You Started Hacking The Matrix?

However, high levels of intensity can also bring out the best in us as we zero in on a goal in a pre-determined time frame. I know personally that the busier I am and the more hectic my life is, the more I get done!

So, how about you? How has the last 13 days been for you? Do you feel as though you are starting to hack the matrix of weight loss...and life?

As I discuss in today's video I'd love to hear your thoughts about this inaugural Group Shred in my Day 365 blog post tomorrow. You can let it all out, the highs, the lows, the challenges and the victories.

Your Own GS Profile!

I feel that documenting a recap of your experience will help future Shredders understand the benefits (and the reality!) of participating in Group Shred 2 which will kick-off on January 7, 2007. Nothing beats real-world experience!

I can also put your 14-Day Group Shred Recap in your very own GS Profile on this blog which will accompany your progress pictures on each Sunday's GS Update.

One more thing, what would be really cool is if you could send in your current body stats (total body weight, lean body mass and bodyfat percentage) and I will include that in your GS Profile.

What we can then do is update your body stats once a week to accompany your progress pictures as we count down to January 8, 2007 (12 weeks on the GS!).

P.S. Check out my fourth new camera in five days in today's video!

Adam: It would be interesting to know how much mass you've added since day 295 to current. You can notice big changes, but the tape always tell the truth.
Great idea about the GS, but find the scale inaccurate when losing fat and building muscle. Alright until tomorrow...you know the drill!

Hey Adam, you must have a million thoughts buzzing around in your head as you near the final day of this mission and the bookend of a year adventure. Its amazing what one can do in a year!

Regarding your camera luck, have you tried messing around with the white balance? It looks a little yellowish, which is often what happens with indoor incandescent lighting. Another thing you can try on your computer is to do a histogram equalization.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to being a part of GS2, as I'm starting to blog daily now. It should be a good turning point in my journey to set some new goals. Right now I'm focusing on my Christmas holiday deadline!

Good luck all you shredder council members. Make thhis last day count!

Hi Adam,
Measuring body stats is unknown to me. If you know of any report or video blog showing how to do it would be helpful.

Thank you so much,
Miriam

Hi Diane, I should have got my stats on D295 but because I was real busy at that time I didn't. So, I honestly don't know. But I will measure tonight.

Cheers,
Adam

Hi Raiden, you are right mate, I still don't know what I'm gonna write on Day 365 post. Thanks for your lighting tips, I'll play around with those tonight, and I look forward to seeing you on GS2!

Cheers,
Adam

Hi Miriam, do you have BFFM? There is a free bonus report that covers that in depth, about how to measure your BF in your own home.

But, I'll talk about it more in Day 365 too.

Cheers,
Adam

When I first saw that this challenge was put out there, I knew I had to do it but was terrifyed that I didn't believe in myself enough to do it. But here i am on day 14 and now know that I can do this. Anyone can do it. And here i am doing it publicly. It has really made me more determined to finish what I start. My workouts are done with a purpose now. My eating not only benfits fat loss but overall health of my body. Knowing that there are others there willing to lend support to you is so wonderful yet we don't even know each other. How bizarre that you get help from strangers. But we are all in this journey together so helping each other is easy. Everyone in this group shred has been nothing but supportive. I thank you all. My progress will be slow I feel and patience patience patience is paramount in this kind of journey. Every thing is a learning curve, its trial and error and persistence. We must not give up, we learn from our mistakes. We pick ouselves up when we have made a stumble and we march on down that road to victory. Along the way we learn more about ourselves. We become wiser, we grow as people, we not only sense achievement but we feel it. The journey will never actually be over. We will find new goals to achieve along the way as we pass the previous ones. What a journey to be had. Aren't we great. Yes we have taken on a challenge and as each day passes with success another follows tommorow, another day to conquer and we can all conquer it as long as we put our minds to it. Success is for everyone who is willing to challenge it.

Keep Shredding Bec and I'll see you on Day 84!

Adam,
Wow what to say about my experience so far...??? For me, it is actually hard to describe because I have struggled so much in this area and this shred has been, to be honest, pretty easy comparatively. I used to have such a mental battle ALL THE TIME, and I guess since so many are watching and counting on us to succeed, I just don't fight that battle as much, I just do what I know I need to do. Not that there aren't tough times, but before I just felt so stressed and guilty and down all the time and during these 14 days I have felt excited and uplifted. And when you are doing what you committed to do, you don't have the guilt because you are doing the right thing! And you think less about it because you aren't analyzing decisions you made or didn't make over and over again. Like I said, hard to explain, but the biggest change I see in myself is mental and I think that's the hardest battle we all fight. If we didn't have a mental struggle going on inside of us, we wouldn't have let ourselves go physically in the first place. We would eat what we know is healthy and exercise regularly like waa all know we are supposed to do to just be a healthy person. Doing this together in a group is so much better than doing it alone. I mean, this has been proven because even if you look at a program like Weight Watchers, the people who go to meetings are MUCH more likely to succeed than those who don't but it's tough to put yourself out there in the beginning and admit you are out of control. And then to take the pictures and prove where you are starting from. That was my first obstacle. But after the decision to do it was made, it got easier all the time and I am so glad I did it because I can see such a difference that I wouldn't have given myself credit for. And really, although the first smile was a little forced, the ones after that did get bigger and bigger like you said because I really am happy to be doing what I am doing and I am proud of myself. People don't usually give themselves enough credit, like I think it was Mike was saying, we never acknowledge our own success in a healthy way, and I agree. I am usually the first one to wave off encouragement becuase I don't want to seem like I am vain but I really am proud of my accomplishment so far and I am looking forward to the next phase of this journey so I can keep giving myself reasons to be happy. So anyway, the best experience that I take away, and that I can tell other potential shredders, is to take the chance on yourself because you will learn that you can overcome the battle in your mind, stop feeling guilty, have the chance to do it alongside others who are going through the exact same things, and learn to love yourself and the journey. And that all happens in a very short period of time, you won't even believe how fast you can turn it around if you really commit!
